More about the Hide and Sea creatures
Hide and Sea has extensive experience in working with animals and managing aquarium facilities. The marine invertebrates that take part in Hide and Sea are sourced from professional aquarium facilities and the species are carefully selected to ensure they are suitable to take part in public interaction.
The Hide and Sea team has decades of experience in the management of aquatic animals, including the complexities of marine environment management. Water quality is closely monitored to ensure that it is providing the optimal environment for our marine invertebrates. Water changes, regular testing, and several filtration methods are implemented to ensure this.
Interactions are limited to a small window over the day to ensure the marine invertebrates receive adequate rest time and can exhibit natural behaviours such as filter feeding and rest. All ponds provide opportunities for the marine invertebrates to remove themselves from public reach, should they desire. At the conclusion of the event, the marine invertebrates are returned to public, private and exhibition aquaria for retirement.
