Work has been progressing in the new Nicholas Street Precinct and stage two will be revealed on 28 November 2020 with the opening of Tulmur place – the new civic plaza.
The switch will also be flicked on the fun new water play zone– the perfect way to entertain your kids in the shade throughout our long, hot summer.
The following Saturday, 5 December, Nicholas Street will welcome back the Future Flavours Food Fair food truck event, with live, family-friendly entertainment all night.
The new Ipswich Central Library will officially open its doors to the public on 7 December 2020.
To celebrate, a schedule of events has been organised including school holiday activities, Saturday Sunset Sessions and live entertainment daily from 28 November to 20 December.
Council’s new administration building is well under way with all levels completed, external cladding near completion and a test run of the lights completed. It’s due to open in mid to late 2021 with Council staff to relocate there and space available for rent.
Restoration of the Commonwealth Hotel has commenced and the new Eats building has had an awning facelift and paving to Bottle Alley completed.
